Gallery Two-Ten
February 2008 PHP, MySQL

This is a site I did for a new contemporary art gallery located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. "Gallery Two-Ten strives to be a premier exhibitor of some of the finest contemporary art work in the United States. With over 6,000 sq. ft. of display space and 15 artist studios, Gallery Two-Ten is a unique concept. The realization of a dream held by owner Marianne Gunter, the Gallery encompasses a total art experience for everyone who visits."

This was one of those "do eve...

BrewBlogger
November 2007 HTML, PHP, MySQL

Here's a site where I really wanted to sharpen my skills as a PHP "programmer" (I use quotations because I can't really claim the title).

I've recently gotten back into making my own beer at home thanks to a kegerator kit my wife gave me for Christmas.  I was poking around on the internet, trying in vain to find a simple, browser-based system to help me organize and store the logs I take while making a batch of beer.  Nothing was out there.  So, I m...

AmeriCraft Builders
October 2007 HTML, PHP

This is a small site for friend that owns a building company that specializes in high-end, custom remodels. In designing this site, the main focus was the photos of the work Tom, the owner, had done. Using a nifty Flash gadget called SlideShow Pro, I was able to easily put together dynamic picture tours of the beautiful remodels Tom had completed. In fact, my own basement will be added to the site's photos.

This website was a small gift to Tom and his wife, Tish, for helping us out n...

The Art of Dianna Cates Dunn
May 2007 HTML, PHP, MySQL

The client desired to have more control of the site's content than the previous Flash version. Solution: a PHP fueled site with a MySQL backend.

This site features a fully functional administration area where the client can add, edit or delete the information displayed on the customer front-end.

In May 2007, I was contacted to update the site's look and feel. I took the opportunity to resolve some Administrative issues Dianna was having with the previous version. It's...

Rock & Roll History Online
February 2007 HTML
UPDATE (February, 2007) - I've added more and cleaned up the HTML, now utilizing CSS for consistency of the look and feel.

This site had been my labor of love (!) for many years. The first version of the site was built, ambitiously, I'll admit, as part of the first web design class I took.

I started this project way back in 1998 when I first got into the nuts and bolts of HTML. I never saw the virtues of the personal "this is who I am and wow! Look at the pictures ...

Metrolist e-Learning
September 2006 Flash, HTML

The next incarnation of Metrolist's online training, launching in conjunction with the new MLS system.  The first release of the new MLS system is a Comparative Market Analysis tool called CMA 1.0.

Using the philosophy and practicality of rapid prototyping, I was responsible for the instructional design of the e-learning, design of the modules, and implementation into the web environment.  The modules provide an overall context, providing a grounded, situational learning e...

Soap Me Up!
January 2006 HTML, PHP, MySQL

I was referred to the owner of Soap Me Up by a former client, owner of Olde Crone's Bewitching Bath Soap - I seem to be getting a sudsy theme going here.  Either that or people think I'm in need of a shower...

Sherol, the owner of Soap Me Up, asked me to update her site.  She said it needed more recent content and was having difficulty updating it herself using FrontPage (and who wouldn't - tip to Microsoft: get out of the WYSIWYG editor biz).  I proposed that I not on...

Olde Crone's Bewitching Bath Soap
October 2005 HTML, PHP, MySQL
I have a really good friend, Amy Kalinchuk, that makes the most amazing, handmade soaps.

She started small, making soap only for her family, only to find out that you can't just make two or three bars of soap at a time, you make more like twenty.  So, with the extra bars of soap lying around, she decided to sell some to friends and co-workers.  The soap sold out in a day.  She made more.  That batch sold...

Grand Mesa Jeep Club
July 2005 HTML, PHP, MySQL
This is, by far, the most extensive site I have built.  The Grand Mesa Jeep Club wanted a web presence, but the president (who also happens to be my brother) wanted the site to be fresh, a place that the members of the club can come to get news, exchange photos, post, and be recognized.

The site has two distinct areas.  The first area is the public side, where there is general information, an application to join, photos of trips, member profiles and news.  The second part of...

Spam & Cookies
October 2004 HTML
A while back I was asked to develop a course for our customers detailing how to safeguard privacy and security while online. After doing some hefty research, I composed a 20 page white paper with the target audience being real estate professionals. This select group, like many other professions, has their technical novices and that was the audience I had in mind when I wrote the paper.
